Stone Sculpture
Stone, with its unique tactile properties, particularly Ancaster limestone with its velvety grain, and the soft flecked Cornish soapstone, has been a material of choice for Anne. Stone carving helps her to extract the essential from the original shape which fired her imagination.
Unfurling leaves and flowers, seed pods, bulbs and shells which are represented in her monumental sculpture, have been first conceived in stone which allow her to combine simplicity of form with latent energy.
